I am running for the United States Senate because I intend to provide solutions to the serious issues our country has and seek out like-minded people to assist me. Our government MUST be much more responsive to the people. I am running because our Nation needs to provide a balanced budget before the national debt can be overcome.
Issues important to Americans and South Dakotans are also important to me. I am running to represent the will of the people and not allow bills such as Obamacare. Even though our country needs health care reform, a dishonest attempt like Obamacare must be immediately dealt with. I am running to provide our country with a strong national defense and a sensible foreign policy to protect and preserve our freedoms both at home and abroad.
One of the most important things that I have learned in the military is when to lead and when to follow. More importantly, knowing which one to do at any given time is vital. We need strong principled leadership in Washington D.C. I have always sought to follow the values of leadership: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honesty, Integrity and Personal Courage and will continue to do so if so elected.
I believe we, the people, deserve better leadership from our government. If I am so honored to be sent to Washington D.C. to represent you, I will fight tirelessly to protect your freedoms. An essential goal is to reduce the ever-increasing role of government. This will require serious attention and time.
I am running because I am not a career politician and I do not want to become one. However, as my nation has called me to serve three times overseas, a number of great South Dakotans called me to serve the state as its next Senator; so I am humbly answering their call and I intend to continue my oath from the military to the senate.
