Yankton, SD—Senate Candidate Jason Ravnsborg today expressed his disappointment with the Obama Administration’s Friday announcement of indefinitely delaying a decision on the Keystone XL Pipeline.
While the State Department’s official stand is to wait for legal proceedings in Nebraska to play out, Ravnsborg sees the move as political in nature, helping to shield the Democratic Party heading into the 2014 midterm elections.
“This is the administration playing politics as usual,” Ravnsborg said. “Hedge-fund manager Tom Steyer, a Democratic donor, has promised to raise $100 million to assist Democrats in the elections AND he is strongly opposed to the pipeline project, it’s as if he bought this delay.”
“I see this as an abysmal failure of the energy policy of this administration and, unfortunately for America, an expected move from career politicians.”
